QUOTE(Todd Fan @ Dec 19 2005, 06:53 AM) Because he infects my brain so well (and he makes Skysong giggle muchly) here's more Deadpool quotes, you gotta love that crinkly De-mee Moore voice ;) Wade: Syrin! And Cannonballs! Sam: That's Cannonball, you twit Wade: Really? You sure? 'Cause I kinda had a healthy dose of respect for you before... *while being attacted by alternate reality villians* "I don't suppose any of you could just fall on my sword?" "Man, genetically mutated chicken totally rocks!" "You're not allowed to crush his hopes and dreams and force him to do what you want him to do unless you're his REAL parent. He needs someone who'll love him and teach him how to shoot a gun and only show him the GOOD porn" *On baby Cable* "My god, those tiny legs move faster than they have any right to!!!" "For a mutant inventor genius type, Forge sure does state the obvious" "I am NOT going back to any more alternate worlds! I mean, yeah, Days of Future Past was a classic and all, but it's really been done to death now" *Everyone give a wah-huh? expression* Down goes another brick of the 4th wall.... Oh ... my ... *dissolves into helpless snickering* -------------------- You know what bugs me about them? If you're so pro-life, do me a favour - don't lock arms and block medical clinics. They *are*...
From a conversation between me and my algebra teacher: Me: *to my only friend in that class* Why do I hang out with you? You've got the mentality of a six-year-old on crack! Teacher: Well, the good thing about hanging around people with the mentality of six-year-olds is that you can always feel mentally superior... And then of course there's the Chuck Norris quotes that have been spreading around our school... it's amazing how far a piece of paper "dropped" by a few Arteests can get in three days... "Chuck Norris's tears could cure cancer. Too bad he never cries." "When the boogieman goes to bed at night, he checks the closet for Chuck Norris." "There's only one person who ever survived a roundhouse kick by Chuck Norris: Terry Schiavo. She got what was coming to her in the end." Or "There's only one person who ever survived a roundhouse kick by Chuck Norris: Stephen Hawking. And we all know how that turned out." That's all I've heard at least... anyone know where they're getting these from? -------------------- Blog: Click here for stupid stuff! Skysong! Mistress of Madness and all that jazz.

As said by Tom Cullen, a slightly mentally disabled character in the Steven King book The Stand:
QUOTE “The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want for nothing. He makes me lie down in the green pastures. He greases up my head with oil. He gives me kung-fu in the face of my enemies. Amen.” BEST… PRAYER… EVER. -------------------- |

You already know my love of odd women... from "X-Men: Evolution"'s Mystique, to Demona of "Gargoyles" fame, onward to Sheeva from "Mortal Kombat"...
But, one of my true favorites, was the Lady in Red, the Masked Madwoman, Mother Chaos, Queen of De Nulls, Our Lady of Perpetual Motion, Master of the Universe, Toast of the Town, Soup of the Day, Chicken of the Sea... er, Nevermind. Hexadecimal, from the CGI-animated show ReBoot... How fitting, that the last words in the series, are from her... "I infect the entire net. I have spread through systems, peoples, and cities; from this place, Mainframe. My format? Virus. The Queen of Chaos!" (Hex laughs wildly) And, of course, my favorite Hex quote of all... "You have no IDEA the power you try to control! Chaos will always triumph over order!... It is the way of things." -------------------- ![]() |

Ain't it great?
Mind you, The Stand was a hard book for me to read. It took four attempts to get through book one about the Plague, it was just too depressing. Plus we had a steer die that day, so reading about Captain Trips was kinda creeping me out. -------------------- |

I know... I'm a very fast reader, and that took me almost a month to get through (I can cover IT in about a week). The Stand is the only Stephen King book that's ever scared me- the scene where the pill-popping chick died totally squicked me.

Yeah, I'm a speed-reader myself. The Lord of the Rings trilogy took me about four nights' reading after school and that was it.
I can remember my dad burning Cujo when I was a little kid. He just walked into the room and tossed the book onto the fire, with this sad and angry look on his face. When I asked what was wrong, all he said was: "The dog won. The dog shouldn't have won." I didn't read Cujo until a couple years ago, so I never understood what he meant until then. But the ending really upset him, and now I know why. I'm a huge Stephen King fan, but you shouldn't read most of his stuff if you want to be in a good mood afterwards. Making an exception for Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, though. -------------------- |

I think Rose Madder is a good one for the warm fuzzies, too- it has a happy ending... even if it is weird.
All I can remember of Cujo was that the scene where he got rabies was from his POV... which was weird. And that King said he couldn't remember writing it because he was so drugged up. -------------------- Blog: Click here for stupid stuff! Skysong! Mistress of Madness and all that jazz.

A couple of quotes explaining why Piter de Vried is the coolest bad guy, ever.
QUOTE 'You play with me, Baron?' Piter asked, and he smiled. Seeing that smile, Jessica wondered that the Baron did not leap to defend himself from this Piter. Then she corrected herself. The Baron could not read that smile. He did not have the Training and QUOTE Jessica heard the clue-tones in the man's voice, allowed herself an inward shudder. How could the Baron have made such an animal out of a Mentat? This coming from a woman who is able to put a fully-armed warrior in a neck-breaking hold in less than a second. This is one evil, evil man. And that's why I love him so much. -------------------- "Round, round, get around, I get around woo;
Get around - woo-oo - I get around... Er, can I have three pints of bitter, a vodka and lemonade and a packet of pork scratchings?" "You may call it genocide... I call it geniuscide!" Both from b3ta.com |

Best bit in the entire LOTR film trilogy, IMHO:
Gríma: "Oh, but you are alone! Who knows what you have spoken to the darkness. In bitter watches of the night, when all your life seems to shrink, the walls of your bower closing in about you, like a hutch to trammel some wild thing in. So fair, so cold, like a morning pale spring still clinging to winter's chill." *shivers* Oooooh, Grima..... -------------------- |

Stephen King is my fave author, I have all his books. I've been reading him since I was about 12, so he doesn't scare me that much, onyl a few select moments spooked me. The Shining is a really good book for building up the tension. As for gross-outs, Misery is pretty bad, there's a scene in the book that wasn't in the movie, and would never GET into a movie. Lets say it involves a crazy lady, a ride-on-lawnmower and cops, and leave it at that.
I haven't read IT yet, I'm afraid of clowns, so I haven't got up the guts to read it yet. -------------------- Bananahammock!

Eh, you're not really missing anything - it builds up to something good, then it just becomes stupid. Very, very, very, very stupid.

As said by a comedian named Big Al (who is frickin' hilarious, by the way):
QUOTE I would like to apologise for getting here late tonight... I had a bit of an altercation at an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Apparently - APPARENTLY - you can't pull your chair up to the buffet anymore... So, yeah, I consoled myself by getting drunk last night, which is why I got here late tonight. I woke up in one of the suburbs, drunk, with a half-eaten Big Mac in my hand. I knew I had to be drunk 'cause otherwise I'd have finished it. QUOTE I've been doing a few job aptitude tests lately. You know, to see how good a worker I am? Yeah, turns out, heh, I'm a fuckwit. The only job it said I'd be good at is a bouncer at a nightclub. So I went to this really classy place and asked for a job there, but they said no because apparently you have to be a wanker as well. QUOTE You know how Grandpa would tell stories about when he was young? I loved that. "Oh, back in my day you could go to the shop with fifty cents... you could get a pie, and a bottle of coke, and a bag of lollies, and a newspaper, $2 minimum chips, a nanny goat..." Quite clearly Grandpa's a fucking shoplifter... -------------------- |
